Association of Women Foresters – a network for women in forestry
Naismetsänhoitajat ry – Association of Women Foresters – was founded in 1955. Our association brings together women from different generations and career stages. A shared educational background and connection to the forest sector form a basis for mutual understanding and a sense of belonging, even when one’s professional path has taken a different direction. The association brings together like‑minded people who share an interest in forests, which we explore from diverse perspectives.
Membership is open to graduates and students in forestry, natural sciences or environmental sciences, as well as other university-trained professionals working in the forest sector. By joining us, you strengthen women’s professional networks. Our association has about 140 members.
We organise various forest-related events, such as discussions and excursions. Events are primarily held in Finnish, but members are always happy to chat in English. You are warmly welcome to join us!
Naismetsänhoitajat ry is a member of The Union of Professionals in Natural, Environmental and Forestry Sciences Loimu,
